Grab Your #2 Pencils: CULT LOVE & FRIENDS VOL. 3 is on Cassette

A mainstay and pillar of Oklahoma’s music scene, Tulsa’s own Cult Love Sound Tapes is celebrating their tenth anniversary with the release of CULT LOVE & FRIENDS VOLUME 3 – their latest in a series of collaborative albums. Releasing May 26th, the album features artists of a variety of genres from all over the United States, including Closet Witch, Boar, and Tulsa’s own Crackrock. In the typical Cult Love fashion the album will not only be available for digital download, but also in a series of limited-run cassette tapes.

Cult Love founders, Natty Gray, George Christ, and Lauran Drummond began their organization 10 years ago with the goal of “creating immersive connections between art and viewers within the community.” Beginning their mission by making cassette tapes, they have since expanded to include a variety of different practices while keeping their grassroots, DIY ethos alive. Since starting in 2015, Cult Love has built up a network of artists, musicians, and creatives that sprawls the nation.

Aside from music, Cult Love is also a supporter of local artists of different mediums, hosting several exhibits, events, and workshops like their upcoming Community Beat event. Similar to their Cult House – a previous endeavor by Cult Love – Community Beat is an event for underground artists and creatives to connect and hone their skills. The event is free for all ages and takes place May 30th through June 1st.
