Cody Goes to NYC (Blog 1)

todayJune 14, 2012

Cody

Hello. It’s me, Cody. Let me start this by saying that I am the last person you would expect to see living in New York City. Born in Texas, I spent my teenage years on a farm in Pawnee, Oklahoma. I own cattle. Shoutouts to anyone from a big city that has never seen a cow. Out of a class of roughly 50 students, I graduated high school and went to college at Rogers State University, where I joined the 91.3 FM family and earned a degree in Communications. Over the past couple of years, I’ve had the fortune to work as both Production Assistant and Music Director. You could say that music is an unhealthy obsession that I’ve had since I was a kid. You may have seen videos that I have posted in the past year with other members of 91.3 (if you haven’t seen them, check them out. I’m adorable). This summer, I left Oklahoma in hopes to find work outside the state, and I’m currently interning at Advanced Alternative Media in Manhattan. I’ve only been here once before, and living here was something that seemed impossible, due to the fact that I’ve never lived in a really big city (at the most the outskirts of one). Hitting the grounds of NYC running, this blog will pretty much document events, concerts, triumphs and tragedies that I attend and live with throughout the summer. Come for the laughs, stay for the memories. You won’t be disappointed (I’m looking at you, mom and dad). -Cody
