Annie Oakley will release their first album called Words We Mean this month. The folk trio from Oklahoma City released “Pomp and Swell” on September 12 along with an accompanying music video. “Pomp and Swell” is the first track, starting the album with the lyrics, “what would I be if I didn’t have you”. And yes, the video is just as warm and happy as the first line of the song.
The video features the three members of Annie Oakley. The trio of Sophia and Grace Babb with Nia Personette are shown with significant others, friends, and family. The music video captures the message of the song so well by showing you connections between two people or a group of friends. “Pomp and Swell” sounds delicate yet deliberate which is something to expect in the upcoming album. You can watch the video below.
Words We Mean will be released on October 12. The album is full of incredible harmonies and beautiful lyrics. The group worked on this project for three years and you can hear the hard work that they have put into it. You can preorder the digital album through Horton Records Bandcamp here.
