The Vanguard is Having its First Open Mic Night

Tomorrow local hip hop legend Alan Doyle (above) will be hosting the Vanguard’s inaugural open mic night. Local talents are encouraged to perform stand-up comedy, spoken word poetry, or music. Musical performances will have some restrictions to keep the production simple. Full bands and drum kits are prohibited. If performers have digital versions of their music, they should bring the material on a device that can play MP3 files. Singer-songwriters that include a guitar or keyboard in their set are encouraged to bring those instruments.

There will be a signup sheet ready at the door tomorrow night. Each performer will be given fifteen minutes to showcase their skills. Performances will start at 7 PM. For more information, visit the event’s Facebook page here.
