John Moreland Announces New Album and Tour

todayOctober 22, 2019

Background

John Moreland has amassed a major following for his folky tunes over the past six years. His fame initially left Oklahoma state borders after the release of his 2013 album In the Throes. Listeners across the country were moved by his melancholic songwriting. His 2015 album High on Tulsa Heat gave us “Cherokee”, a beautiful ballad that explores longing, shame, forgiveness, and love.

Moreland recently announced his fifth studio album titled LP5.  The effort won’t be taking a departure of Moreland’s style, instead, it will incorporate fresh textures and background layers for added dimension. The record also marks his first time working with a producer. Check out “East October”, the first song from the upcoming album.

LP5 is set to release on February 7th, 2020 and you can pre-order it here. Moreland also announced dozens of shows set for 2020. Tickets will go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time and can be purchased here.
