Calliope Musicals Coming To Tulsa

Buckle up, friends. There’s a chaotic, beautiful, and maddening cosmic storm making its way to Tulsa. This swirling storm of psychedelic fervor is Austin band Calliope Musicals. If you’ve never experienced the mind-expanding endorphins of a Calliope Musicals live show, the video below should serve as an apt example.

The group is fronted by mistress of avant-garde musicality, Carrie Fussell. During the spring they released Between Us, an EP following 2019’s LP Color/Sweat which featured the enigmatic “Fear This Body.” Between Us is another round of anthemic, psychedelic pop rippers. On Friday, those rippers are making their way to the Blackbird on Pearl in downtown Tulsa. They’ll be supported by local band Helen Kelter Skelter. You can grab tickets on the band’s website. Along with Tulsa, Calliope Musicals are also making their way to Chicago, Cleveland, Brooklyn, and New York among others.

Friday night, RSU Radio will have an exclusive interview with Carrie Fussel. Hear it during It’s Kinda Late with Caden Coleman at 7 PM on 91.3 FM or right here at rsuradio.com
