Irish post-punk outfit Fontaines D.C. have announced their third LP Skinty Fia which releases April 22nd. The band shared lead single “Jackie Down the Line” this week along with a short run of North American tour dates. Tickets for the whole tour go on sale this Friday at 10 AM local time. Check out the album art, tracklist, and tour dates below.
Skinty Fia was produced by previous collaborator Dan Carey, who helped with 2019’s Dogrel and 2020’s A Hero’s Death. The new album’s title is actually an Irish expletive that translates to “the damnation of the deer” (hence the album imagery). Skinty Fia explores the band’s identity as Irish people that have moved away from home, and the giant Irish deer stands as a representation of their heritage. You can hear another new song from the record when the band performs on The Tonight Show Wednesday, January 12.
