Backwoods Bash This Weekend!

Since 2008, Backwoods Bash has been bringing Oklahoma the best in jam bands, red dirt, and reggae together for its annual music festival. The three day event will be held on Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-27, at the Old Walnut Creek State Park on Keystone Lake. Featuring an array of local talent, Backwoods Bash supports the Symposium of International Arts, Music and Entertainment’s (SIAME) Foundation. RSU Comm students receive honors

On Wednesday, all of RSU Radio’s student staff and a few others attended the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters and the Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association student awards luncheon and ceremony in Oklahoma City at the Will Rogers Theatre. We attended a job fair where we were able to make a lot of great connections and also enjoyed a nice lunch and presentation from OKC Mayor Mick Cornett. KCACTF: RSU Radio Does Acting

As you may know, several of us from RSU Radio are also part of RSU's Student Theatre Organization (STO). RSU Radio Goes Theatre!

RSU Radio staff members Josh Gammon, David Prock, and Garrett Powders will attend the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival February 25 – March 3 in Shreveport, Louisiana with the RSU Theatre Program to compete for scholarship awards. Garrett Powders was nominated for an Irene Ryan Award for his role as Baltus Van Tassel in RSU’s original production of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”. He will compete for several acting scholarships offered by the festival. Other Irene Ryan Award nominees include RSU students Hannah Westlund, Andrew Grimes, Katie Hoffman, and Adam Eagleburger. RSU to Recognize 2012 World Series Team Sunday
