RSU Hillcats Take Heartland Conference Title

The win came in the dramatic fashion, mimicking something you might see in the movies. RSU senior guard, Donald Moore, hit a three pointer with just 2 seconds left in the second overtime period of the last game of the year. To add to the drama, it was a winner-take-all game meaning that the winner took home the crown of the Heartland Conference regular season championship. With RSU not being eligible for postseason play this year, this game was essentially their postseason and a way for the senior players to go out on top.

Senior guard, JC Hartzler, played like a man who wasn’t going to be denied his championship. Hartzler put up a career high 38 points that included six from downtown and 29 of those points were scored in the second half. It was an epic game for the ages, and one that people who watched in person, or listened to, will not soon forget. Congratulations to Head Coach Justin Barkley, his staff, and players on being the Heartland Conference regular season champions.
