The RSU Hillcats Men’s Basketball team took home the Heartland Conference regular season championship. The team sealed the league title with a win against Dallas Baptist on Monday night.. The win came in the dramatic fashion, mimicking something you might see in the movies. RSU baseball players, Andrew Vanisi and Blake Gipson, continue to rack up post-season honors. Vansisi was named Heartland Conference Newcomer of the Year, and was also named to the All-Conference first team as an outfielder. Vanisi led the Heartland conference in home runs with 12, and finished with a strong .373 batting average. Gipson earned second team All- Conference honors as a designated hitter after he hit for a .359 […]
During the month of February Hillcat athletes have acquired several accolades. J.C. Hartzler received the honor of being selected for the Capitol One All-District Men’s basketball team. The junior guard leads the Hillcats in scoring by averaging 14.6 points per game and carries a 3.8 grade point average while majoring in Applied Technology.
