David Prock Performing

Hey there David Prock here in Shreveport, LA with Josh and Garrett. We’ve had a great week taking part in Kennedy Center of American College Theatre Festival.

Many have had the chance to participate in acting and directing workshops and we’ve seen a variety of productions with great performances.

I have been especially busy because of the 10 Minute Plays Showcase. The Showcase features six 10 minute plays written by different students from across the region.

I attended the auditions on Wednesday with around sixty other students from many different schools. I was not confident in my audition because my voice was hoarse from the previous day.

However, later that day at around three o’clock I got a text saying that I had been chosen by the director of Those Who Wed. For the past few days between workshops and plays I met with the director and cast and we rehearsed.

Then, today in front of crowd of more than 100 students and faculty including my fellow RSU students. The show was a huge success and many people said they had a good time.

On a personal note I’m really proud to have been a part of it because, no RSU student has been cast before and I enjoy bringing attention to the school and to our theatre program. Along with our positive response at the Night of Invited Scenes I think RSU has left a good impression on ACTF.
