Greetings from New York. Josh and I will be keeping everyone posted of our week at the College Music Journal Festival, so keep posted right here, Facebook, Twitter (Josh and Garrett) and Instagram.
Day 1 started off with a celebrity siting before we even left Tulsa and one who has a connection to Claremore. Congressman Markwayne Mullin just happened to be on the same plane. Not giving away either of our political beliefs, but a celebrity is a celebrity, a congressman is a congressman.
We didn’t see a celebrity when we landed in New York, but we did see areas of the city we weren’t supposed to see just then.
Ordering a car to take us from the airport to our hotel seemed like a good idea, until our driver took us the wrong way and Josh ended up giving him directions from his phone…YUP.
Our transportation strangeness continued when the first train ride of our trip had a really good break dancer entertain us for a few minutes, (we’ll post the video later).
Finally, when we got to explore the city itself we went to the touristy tourist section of all the world, Times Square.
Full of people and vendors, Josh and I met more interesting characters that we can’t really talk about on our blog…
The trip is off to an interesting start already, and CMJ officially starts today and we can’t wait.
