Music videos; by this time everyone knows what they are. An artist takes their most popular songs and creates videos to visualize the story. It’s a great concept and one that MTV made wildly popular in the 1980s.
Now MTV may only play shows about Teen Pregnancy, but music videos are still around and artists are finding new and creative ways to make them and to get their fans involved.
That’s what local band, The Fabulous Minx, is doing for their song “At The Sock Hop.”
The Fabulous Minx, is a 2 man band with a rockabilly style. High energy and loud, they love to feed off their fans, and on November 22 at The Yeti, they are looking for their fans to help create a music video.
“Our fans are the most important part of what we do – without them, playing just isn’t the same. So, rather than just making a video and sending it to them to consume, we want to make them part of the creative process by helping us shoot a music video,” said Ryan Daly, guitarist and vocalist of The Fabulous Minx.
Fans can come out, take pictures and videos of the night and email them to thefabulousminx@gmail.com.
Once the band has all the footage and images, they will piece them together into a FANtastic Music Video.
