Reese Donohue and Christopher Prudhomme are the duo that makes up Painted Palms. The two cousins grew up together in Lafayette, Louisiana but Donohue eventually moved to San Francisco .This forced the pair to start sending song ideas back and forth via email. Donohue would send a short looping beat and Prudhomme would reply with a vocal melody. This method spawned their first release called Canopy.

They now both live in San Francisco but they continue to create music like they are miles apart. They write and record each individual piece of the song in isolation and then mix it together through the computer. Their full length debut album is titled Forever and you can hear two tracks from that release right here on 91.3. The combination of their unique synth driven songs and creative process is why Painted Palms are the Press Play artist of the week.
