Press Play: Coldplay

Coldplay has already solidified themselves as one of the top alternative bands of this era. However, their newest release, which is titled Ghost Stories, shows the band in a way we haven’t seen before. The new album is more subtle and stripped down compared to previous efforts. A great example of this element is the song “Magic”. This allows lead singer Chris Martin to show off his rich vocals.

The album includes elements of EDM and major synth lines which are relatively new to the band. It’s a thoughtful, emotional, and deep album that can turn anyone into a Coldplay fan. The production on this album is an exemplification of where the band is headed and it shows them at their most vulnerable.
