Sound & Color

todayApril 28, 2015

The long anticipated wait is over. The sophomore album debuted from the Alabama Shakes earlier this week with twelve fresh tracks. “Sound & Color” can stand alone with having soul and spirit. Each track from the album explores a new groove the group has never shown before. The Shakes debuted in 2012 with album “Boys & Girls” which earned the group three Grammy nominations including one for “Best New Artist.” Their first album sold over 700,000 copies. Artists Brittney Howard, Heath Fogg, Zac Cockrell and Steve Johnson are making their way up the charts and finding a unique place in alternative music after being on tour. Being from Athens, Alabama this working-class quartet has written their entire new album with songs highlighting adventure, something that was shied away from the first time around.  It’s hard to classify this group because each song is genre bending with a little bit of R&B, funk, and southern soul. The group will be kicking off their second worldwide tour in early May. Shows include big name cities like Toronto, Manchester, and Queens with a total of 34 shows. The tour will close out in London in late November. Tune into RSU Radio where you can hear the best tracks from The Alabama Shakes latest piece of work, Sound & Color.
