RSU Theatre Presents First Performance of 2013

RSU Theatre is presenting its first performance of 2013 this Thursday and Friday with a reading of American Home. The play by Stephanie Alison Walker will be held in the Baird Hall Performance Studio on the 7th and 8th at 7:07 in the evening. American Home gives us a look into the lives of three people who are being affected by the looming economic crisis. Audiences will see a wife, an elderly widow, and a wealthy evangelist struggle with letting go of part of their lives while trying to maintain a strong spirit.…continue reading →

Hey there David Prock here in Shreveport, LA with Josh and Garrett. We’ve had a great week taking part in Kennedy Center of American College Theatre Festival. Many have had the chance to participate in acting and directing workshops and we’ve seen a variety of productions with great performances. KCACTF: The Performances Begin

Garrett here from the “The Pelican” state, Louisiana. It’s day three for Josh, David, and I here at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and we’ve already done a lot. Yesterday was the first round of the Irene Ryan scholarship competition. The three of us performed, myself as a nominee and David and Josh as partners of Katie Hoffman and Hannah Westlund who were also nominated for the scholarship. PsySSR hosts Family Bowling Night in Bartlesville

PsySSR (Psychology Students for Social Responsibility) are hosting a Family Bowling Night on Sunday at the Red Apple Bowling Alley in Bartlesville. The event runs from 3:00pm to 5:30pm and costs $5.00 per person. This event is a fundraiser for the RSU PsySSR chapter and includes prizes for the best average scores in three different age categories: 12 & under; 13 years – 17 years; 18 and older. RSU Radio Goes Theatre!

RSU Radio staff members Josh Gammon, David Prock, and Garrett Powders will attend the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival February 25 – March 3 in Shreveport, Louisiana with the RSU Theatre Program to compete for scholarship awards. Garrett Powders was nominated for an Irene Ryan Award for his role as Baltus Van Tassel in RSU’s original production of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”. He will compete for several acting scholarships offered by the festival. Other Irene Ryan Award nominees include RSU students Hannah Westlund, Andrew Grimes, Katie Hoffman, and Adam Eagleburger. Five RSU Students to be honored at OAB/OBEA Student Awards Ceremony

RSU students Garrett Powders, Josh Gammon, David Prock, Emily Mahan and Hannah Westlund will be awarded with three 1st Place, one 2nd Place and one 3rd Place award on March 13th at the Old Will Rogers Theatre in Oklahoma City during the annual Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters and the Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association’s student awards ceremony. RSU to Recognize 2012 World Series Team Sunday
