Royal Aills named new General Manager at RSU Public TV

Rogers State University has named a television executive with more than two decades of broadcast and communications management experience as the new general manager for RSU Public Television. Royal Aills has extensive experience as a manager for both private and public broadcast stations, including seven years as station manager for Oklahoma Education Television Authority's operations in Tulsa. At OETA, he oversaw a 10-person team and had management authority for all station operations, including news, engineering, production, underwriting, sponsorships, public affairs, digital technology management, marketing, budgeting and human resources. RSU Professor celebrates OK Roots Music

“Celebrating Oklahoma Roots Music”…an article by RSU Professor, Dr. Hugh Foley will be featured in the Oklahoma Humanities Magazine (winter 2013 edition). The article introduces the upcoming Smithsonian exhibition, "New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music," by sampling the tracks of Oklahoma music. The article highlights Oklahoma's music history dating back to the Native American tribes and traditions of the time, and it closes with contemporary Oklahoma-affiliated country artists such as Carrie Underwood and Blake Shelton. RSU vs. Claremore in a benefit basketball game

Want to see some good basketball? The RSU Athletics staff will take on the Claremore Community all-stars at the “William W. Barnes Children’s Advocacy Center Charity Basketball Game” on Sunday beginning at 2pm at the Expo Center. The Children's Advocacy Center is a non-profit, United Way Agency whose mission is to reduce the trauma of child abuse. The Center provides forensic interviews, medical evaluations and mental health treatment in a safe, child-friendly environment. RSU to co-sponsor Tulsa Symphony Chamber Concert

You have a chance to enjoy two of the Tulsa Symphony's chamber ensembles when they perform at the Will Rogers Auditorium on the RSU campus Saturday, January 19th.
