Dr. Kruse Rocks at EMP

RSU professor Dr. Holly Kruse will represent the university at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum EMP Pop Conference in Cleveland April 19th and 20th. Kruse will be a part of a round table discussion entitled “Is a World of "Posts" a Post-Canon World?”. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s education program has become one of the most celebrated and award-winning fine arts museums in the nation. What’s it called anyway? SBA Fundraiser

Do any of you remember "Name that Tune?" The goal of the show was to try and name a song by only listening to 1 or 2 notes. Well, RSU's Student Broadcasting Association is hosting a 2013 version called "What's It Called Anyway?" The contest is from 2pm to 4pm on Thursday, April 25th in the Baird Performance Studio, Room 131. RSU Theatre presents Arsenic and Old Lace beginning Thursday the 18th at Will Rogers Auditorium and running through the 21st. Arsenic and Old Lace follows Mortimer Brewster as he deals with dark family obstacles in a humorous way. The play, written by Joseph Kesselring in 1939, runs Thursday the 18th through Saturday at 7:07 pm and on Sunday at 2:07 pm. Tulsa Youth Symphony: Spring Serenade

Monday May 6th the Tulsa Youth Symphony will present their annual Spring Serenade. The performance will include both the Concert Orchestra conducted by Pete Peterson and the Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ronald Wheeler and Richard Wagner. The two orchestras are composed of 160 students from various public, private, and home schools throughout northeast Oklahoma. Featured soloists for this year’s Spring Serenade include Violist Yuna Ha, Cellist Reed Reagan and Violinist Alex O’Boyle. April Music

April may be known for pranks and tricks, but this April is also a great month for true alternative music. I thought I was being pranked when I was told that the brand new Cold War Kids was being released on April Fool’s Day. “Dear Miss Lonelyhearts” will thrill any Cold War Kids fan with its blues influenced mix and overall catchy tunes like the song “Lost that Easy”.
