Rhema Lights Up the Holiday Season

With Christmas upon us, light displays are appearing almost everywhere. One of the largest in Oklahoma is free and right here in Green Country. Rhema Bible Church has flipped the switch on over two million lights, creating a wonderland for all ages. Get Carried Away at the Tulsa State Fair!

The Tulsa State Fair is coming back to the Tulsa Fairgrounds the 29th through October 9th. There will be plenty for kids to have fun with at this year’s fair. Disney on Ice will be presenting Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 3. The Just for Kids Adventure is returning with science attractions, fair favorites like Tulsa’s Largest Sandbox, building areas and creative stations. Tulsa International Film Festival

The first ever Tulsa International Film Festival is coming to the downtown district September 22nd through the 25th. The festival will feature over 150 films from a variety of genres. A series of workshops covering aspects of filmmaking, including makeup and screenwriting, will also be held throughout the event. Joel Hulett, Chief Programmer, says, “This will be the biggest film festival Oklahoma has ever seen. We’ve got an outstanding lineup with over 150 films. It’s a “Big Country Weekend” for Vinita

Vinita has a big weekend to look forward to with food, entertainment, and country fun. The appropriately titled “Big Country Weekend” kicks off early with the 75th Annual Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo on Tuesday the 23rd and runs through Saturday the 27th at the American Legion Arena. Quicksilver Motorcycle Rally & Rodeo

Cowboys and motorcycles may seem like an unusual combination, but at the Quicksilver Motorcycle Rally and Rodeo it’s the norm. The eleventh annual festival kicks off at the Tahlequah Rodeo Grounds on August 19th and runs through the 21st. Activities range from a motorcycle parade and bike games to rodeos and a carnival. Gatesway Balloon Festival 2011

It’s almost August and you know what that means… it’s time for the 16th annual Gatesway Balloon Festival at the Will Rogers Downs in Claremore. The festival kicks off Friday, August 5th with evening balloon flights and musical entertainment.
