Tulsa Indian Art Festival is Coming to Glenpool

Your chance to explore a variety of Indian art is coming to the Glenpool Conference Center February 8th – 10th. The Tulsa Indian Art Festival (TIAF) is celebrating its 27th year with music, dancing, storytelling, and – of course – American Indian art. Merlin Little Thunder, a featured festival artist in 1998, has been showing his work at the festival since the early 1990s. Dr. Martin Luther King….Remembered

A number of events are scheduled around January 21st as the Claremore-Tulsa market remembers Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for his beliefs in nonviolent activism and the Civil Rights Movement. Rogers State University in Claremore will kick off the day with an opening ceremony beginning at 10am in the Centennial Center ballroom. Readings from some of his famous speeches will be tribute along with spiritual song being performed by the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Choir of Tulsa. Smash into the New Year with Demolition Derby

The New Year is beginning in a smashing way with the Mad Dog Demolition Derby rolling into town on the 19th. The Claremore Expo Center will be bustling with derby lovers all evening who can expect to see a variety of vehicles taking on the arena with speeds and jumps that will not disappoint. Presented by Motorhead Events, there’s no in-between during the tour. Mini and full-size cars will venture around the Expo, crushing whatever may be in their paths. RSU to co-sponsor Tulsa Symphony Chamber Concert

You have a chance to enjoy two of the Tulsa Symphony's chamber ensembles when they perform at the Will Rogers Auditorium on the RSU campus Saturday, January 19th. Tickets are $5.00 per person and students get in free with their ID. The event begins at 7:30pm. The two ensembles being featured will be the Brass and String Quintets. The concert will also serve as the Patron Drive for the Claremore Symphony League, whose goal is to help bring quality musical performances to Claremore. Winterfest Continues in Downtown Tulsa

Winterfest continues its fifth year in downtown Tulsa. Unusually warm weather lead to the cancellation of a week’s worth of activities, but cool temperatures have brought the event back to life. Winterfest features fun the whole family can enjoy. This includes an ice skating rink outside the BOK Center, along with concession stands, horse carriage rides, and a stage for live musical performances.
