Reggae Fest in Review

After an 11 year hiatus, Tulsa’s original Reggaefest returned with an international lineup. Each day started out slow and hot, but the great music and atmosphere made it well worth the heat. The festival opened with locals Sam and the Stylees, The Rebellion, and Local Hero. The first of the headliners was Jamaican band The Itals. They really set the mood, taking the music back to its roots. Don Carlos […]

Cody on Living in New York (blog 3)

How to Not Suck at Living in NYC This blog post is not remotely funny. For those here for laughs, that’s your parental advisory warning. I assume many younger people unfamiliar with big cities have been given lectures/lessons from older people (i.e. parents) about the dangers of living […]

Cody & the Big Apple (blog 2)

From concerts to work to exploring the city, every day I’ve been here has had at least one major event, show or goal that I’ve needed to accomplish. Getting a view into the opposite spectrum of college radio, […]

Enter “Beneath.” The six-piece band has been around for five years and shows no signs of slowing down. On the heels of their excellent stage showing […]

RSU Radio 91.3 FM always enjoys hearing and promoting the local bands in the Oklahoma music scene. Local music is not only a "corner stone" of RSU Radio, but in fact, a community among itself. This Friday, you can show your support for many of the local bands downtown at the IDL Ballroom during the Urban Tulsa Weekly's "NewVo Showcase 2012." Rising local rock bands such as the "Fiddlebacks", "The […]

Maryland DeathFest In Review

Hey, RSU Radio fans! It's Dr. Drewcifer of the Industrial Complex and I recently attended the extreme metal Mecca known as Maryland Deathfest. For the past ten years, metalheads worldwide have congregated in Baltimore every May for the country's premier underground metal party. I had high expectations for this year’s festival, and they were all exceeded. Maryland Deathfest brought in a lot of big-name acts from the underground metal world […]
