The Fair is Coming to Claremore!

Fair season is in full swing, and that includes the 98th Annual Rogers County Fair. Starting Thursday, September 13th, fair goers can enjoy carnival rides, live music, and fair food at the Claremore Expo Center. The fair features a variety of activities that the whole family can enjoy. The Expo Hall Market is the place to shop Friday and Saturday for homemade products and a variety of accessories. Fine Arts Film: Katy Perry

The RSU Fine Arts Film series is back this Wednesday with a showing of “Katy Perry: Part of Me” at 7pm in the Will Rogers Auditorium. The movie is free and open to the public. The 2012 documentary showcases the career of pop star, Katy Perry as she travels on her world tour. Sunday Concerts on Guthrie Green

Guthrie Green is Tulsa’s newest attraction…with a park, outdoor theatre, fountains and a café. Located in the heart of Brady Arts District, the park was funded by the George Kaiser Family Foundation. Located across from Mathews Warehouse, home of the “Zarrow Center for Arts and Education” and soon to house the Wood Guthrie archives, the park has been dedicated to Oklahoma’s son Woody Guthrie on his 100th birthday. Whale of a Tale Arts & Craft Sale

The 2nd Annual “Whale of a Tale” Arts and Craft sale is accepting artist applications through October 5th for their one-day indoor/outdoor celebration of Oklahoma art. Student work, home schooling groups and creative artists of all ages are encouraged to submit their work. The event will be held in the Catoosa Public Library and Community Center from 10am to 4pm and include door prizes and Kids Corner with crafts and face painting. Growing Greek Life at RSU

Rogers State University is growing and so is Greek Life. Since RSU’s first Greek organization in 2005, the number of sororities and fraternities on RSU’s campus has grown to two each. All four organizations are dedicated to hard work and community service. Alpha Sigma Tau and Alpha Sigma Alpha Sororities have been involved in various school events and community service projects since being chartered in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Oklahoma’s Dam J.A.M. coming Sept. 8th!

Are you interested in going on a bike ride? How about a 101 mile scenic bike tour through the countryside, rural roads and foothills of Mayes and Delaware counties? The Dam J.A.M. 2012 is a one-day tour, for the entire family, that begins and finishes in Pryor, OK. Tours vary in miles of 30, 55, 71, and 101 miles with rest stops all along the way. Yes you read the title correctly…..Moon Nazi’s. Back in April, a movie was released internationally called ‘Iron Sky’. Blue Rose Riverfest Music & Arts Festival

A new music and arts festival is makes its debut in Tulsa on Saturday the 25th, and you can go for FREE. The Blue Rose Riverfest brings the community together through music, art, and eco-friendly activities.
