RSU Radio to Unveil New Website

RSU Radio will launch a new website on Monday, April 4th. The new site will feature a modern design, easier access to the programming schedule, song logs, community events, and music news. The site’s biggest improvements come from increased stability. RSURadio.com will be moving to a new server, which should improve load times and help the site avoid unnecessary down time. Because of the change from one server to another, rsuradio.com may be down for up to a full 24 hours between Saturday afternoon and Sunday evening.continue reading →

New Music to Get Excited About

The first quarter of 2016 has seen college radio return to form with some excellent releases from veterans of the medium. Animal Collective, Ty Segall, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, Ra Ra Riot, Yuck, and others have stood out of the stacked crowd of albums. No Center of the Universe Festival in 2016

The Center of the University Music Festival announced Friday that there will be no 2016 festival. Organizers claim that the festival has outgrown the previous location in the Blue Dome District in Downtown Tulsa. Last year’s event took place across three main stages, including the Guthrie Green, and venues and bars across the area. The entire area was shut down for the two day event. John Moreland to Play Colbert Feb 1

Oklahoma musician John Moreland will be making a national TV appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Moreland will play on Monday, February 1st. The singer and songwriter has earned some national, and even international acclaim as of late. He gained some mainstream notoriety in 2012 when three of his songs were featured on the TV show Sons of Anarchy, but he has been a big name in the Oklahoma music community for some time. RIP Glen Frey

The past month has been a trying time for music fans. Social media is abuzz about the seemingly constant stream of well-known people who have died recently. The most recent death that has shocked the nation is that of Glen Frey, guitarist and singer for the legendary 70s and 80s rock band The Eagles. Glen Frey founded The Eagles along with Don Henley in 1971. He died at age 67 from complications caused by rheumatoid arthritis, colitis and pneumonia. Cain’s Ranked 17th Worldwide for Ticket Sales

The Cain’s Ballroom has ended 2015 ranked 17th in the world for ticket sales by a venue its size. The rankings look at all clubs worldwide with a capacity of 3,000 or less. The Cain’s achieved this ranking despite holding well under the maximum for the category, at a capacity of 1,800. For 2015, the venue sold 130,641 tickets to shows, including 27 sellout performances over the year.
