Tulsa Youth Symphony: Spring Serenade

Monday May 6th the Tulsa Youth Symphony will present their annual Spring Serenade. The performance will include both the Concert Orchestra conducted by Pete Peterson and the Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ronald Wheeler and Richard Wagner. The two orchestras are composed of 160 students from various public, private, and home schools throughout northeast Oklahoma. Featured soloists for this year’s Spring Serenade include Violist Yuna Ha, Cellist Reed Reagan and Violinist Alex O’Boyle. April Music

April may be known for pranks and tricks, but this April is also a great month for true alternative music. I thought I was being pranked when I was told that the brand new Cold War Kids was being released on April Fool’s Day. “Dear Miss Lonelyhearts” will thrill any Cold War Kids fan with its blues influenced mix and overall catchy tunes like the song “Lost that Easy”. RSU Easter Egg Hunt is back on!

Saturday’s scheduled Easter Egg Hunt was cancelled due to early morning rains…but not to worry,the Easter Bunny and RSU’s Student Government Association are working together to get all 3,000 eggs hidden so they will be ready for all the fun on Saturday, April 6th at 11am. In addition to hunting for eggs, kids can also enjoy the carnival rides and prize raffles. This event is open to the public.continue reading →

RSU’s HOG Wild for Scholars

There are still tables available at this year's RSU Foundation's "HOG Wild for Scholars" scheduled for April 12th at the Claremore Expo Center. A silent auction begins at 5:30pm with guests enjoying a BBQ buffet dinner at 6pm. The live auction will begin at 6:30pm. Special guests for the evening will include Billy Simms, former OU Sooner and 1978 Heisman Trophy recipient as well as News on 6 newscaster Lori Fullbright. RSU is growing…again!

Rogers State University is building again…and this time, it’s a dining hall for students. The 17,000 square foot two-story building will include an open dining space with the capacity to serve up to 1,000 students. The OU Board of Regents recently approved the $4.9 million dollar project, which is being funded through donations, university funds and proceeds from revenue bonds issued through the Oklahoma Finance Development Authority. Student Art Show Opening at RSU

Check out what Rogers State University’s Fine Arts students have been up to during the annual Student Art Show inside Baird Hall’s Foundation Gallery. The show opens on Thursday the 28th. OBI Blood Institute visits RSU

The OK Blood Institute will be on campus Thursday, March 28th from 9am to 4pm in the Centennial Center, Ballroom B. All those donating will receive a t-shirt along with some snacks for your contribution. They will also be providing several health screenings and the opportunity to sign up for the “Members for Life” program which allows online access to test results as well as receiving awards points for each donation. POSTPONED DUE TO RAIN: SGA to host annual Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny is planning to visit the RSU campus as the university's Student Government Association plans their 4th Annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 30th. The fun starts at 11am and is free and open to the public. Each year the event grows and grows and just last year, over 200 children, 10 years old and under, came out to hunt for over 1,500 eggs.
